We're about to embark on our kitchen renovation so I've been spending a fair bit of time researching some budget friendly ideas for our space. It's fair to say that Pinterest has been seeing a fair bit of me of late!
I have the layout pretty well sorted now as there were really only two options that would work in our fairly compact kitchen/dining space. I now need to decide on what to do with our floor( we have some fairly dodgy old tiles) cabinetry colour and bench top material.
This pic above has been doing the rounds on various websites lately and I can totally understand why. With a mixture of black and white cabinetry, subway tiles and dark concrete flooring, it has an inviting and relaxed look about it.
I love concrete and I love timber but I love them even more when they are paired together!
Concrete bench tops have always appealed to me and if it's possible I would definitely put one into our kitchen. The copper pendants above, work so well with this concrete & timber combo.
After trawling through images I've pinned onto my kitchen board on Pinterest, it became clear that I have a thing for two toned kitchens. The images I've shortlisted for my kitchen inspo are all a mixture of either black, grey and white.
I love the Brita Sweden Gunnel Runner peeking into the shot on this kitchen floor. Our next shipment of Brita runners and mats are due to arrive by the end of the week. Pre-order here
The next step is to finalise who we will use to build the kitchen and make some firm decisions about the cabinetry, bench tops and flooring. Fun times.
I'll keep you posted but in the meantime keep an eye on my Pinterest boards for some more Kitchen ideas. T
